Prevention is real safety
Safety is personal—
not political
Trump slashed $820M from DOJ programs in 36 states that prevent crime, respond to crises, and support survivors.
For decades, community organizations have worked to prevent violence before it happens—by investing in healing, housing, youth opportunity, and care. But now, over 350 grants supporting these organizations across the country face devastating cuts from the Department of Justice, slashing nearly $820 million in federal funding. These cuts don’t make us safer—they strip away the very solutions that reduce harm at the root.
